There are very few singers existing today that have the depth and individual character within their voice that enables the listener to immediately identify the artist. Tony Hadley, the former lead singer with Spandau Ballet is undoubtedly one of those singers. He is of course known firstly for his work during the 80's with the group that shot to fame, Spandau Ballet; and also for his solo work both as a writer and singer throughout the 90's and into 2000.
The year 2004 saw Tony Hadley's big time comeback. It's a comeback mostly looking like the comeback of Spandau Ballet - being Tony's voice such a recognisable feature of the band
(and Spandau's former drummer John Keeble part of the band!). Sold-out
UK concerts in the 2004 were followed by a staggering 62 UK dates in the
2005. True, Gold, The Look Of Love, Through The Barricades are
just a few of the hits sung live.
This year sees Tony concentrated on his new swing/jazz album "Passing
Strangers", recorded with a 16-piece big band. The album features major
hits previously sung by ie: Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, David
Cassidy, Tony Bennett, etc.
A big band tour will start in
October; the concerts will also
feature new arrangements of Spandau Ballet's hits.
