VANESSA-MAE

“Vanessa-Mae almost single-handedly kick started classical crossover back in 1995, breaking through with a rousing rendition of Bach's 'Toccata in D Minor'. Ten years later it's the track that stirs the audience.”

TECHNO-ACOUSTIC FUSION is how her style is described. Violinist Vanessa-Mae made a name for herself as Great Britain’s most successful musical export of the year after a multi-platinum sales and chart standing in over twenty countries, while a BRIT Award nomination as best female artist marked her as the first instrumentalist and classical artist to have ever received the honour.

Her first EMI album, The Violin Player, at age 16 hit number 11 on the British charts and
sold over two million copies. One selection from the album, "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor", became a hit single for Vanessa-Mae and remained on the top 40 charts for several weeks.
Vanessa-Mae supported The Violin Player with a worldwide tour very aptly entitled Red Hot. She has performed in Vietnam, Singapore, the United States, Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and a host of other countries.

Aside from having shared concert billing with such notable artists as
Luciano Pavarotti, Annie Lennox, Rod Stewart, Janet Jackson, and Status Quo, she has received a variety of honours commemorating her contribution to the world of music.
Some of Ms Mae’s outstanding performances: London Philharmonic, London’s Royal Albert Hall, Berlin Philharmonic, London’s Barbican, Reunification Concert Hong Kong, London’s Buckingham Palace, London’s Hyde Park (with L Pavarotti), London’s Royal Festival Hall.
